In today's atmosphere of stringent regulatory controlled environments, creating cost effective strategies for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers that would not compromise patient care was a major task our Pressure Ulcer Task Force was assigned by our health care system.  We began a journey to update policies and implement new prevention and treatment strategies while cognizant of costs, educational needs, the diversity of our team members and the sites they represented.  Working with a committee of WOCNs, Nurse Educators, and Quality Nurses assembling monthly, our goal was to determine a protocol for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers that were evidence based and consistent with standards of care.  The end goal would be to provide a formulary available to each facility that contained skin, wound care and ostomy products that were validated for quality and effectiveness.  This poster will describe our journey, the results we obtained, and the plan for implementing this new formulary system wide.
