Chronic Recurring Pilonidal Cyst Disease is a difficult to treat surgical and wound problem. The application of NPWT has improved the healing results with this complex wound however patients complain of pain with activation of negative pressure and with sponge dressing changes. Various contact layers have been used to reduce pain and make sponge change more comfortable. Current contact layers do not necessarily conform to the shape of the wound to make intimate contact. In failing to do so may negate the effectiveness of treatment. Transforming Powder conforms intimately with the irregular shape of wounds during application unlike any other wound dressing material. Transforming Powder was used in a case of pilonidal cyst disease and reduced the pain on activation of NPWT and pain from dressing change. Applied as a contact layer, Transforming Powder dressing reduces pain in this application as has been seen in use with other wound types.
