We would like to present our 15-years experience in organization of care for people with intestinal and urinary stoma.
The work of our centre is a vivid demonstration of difficulties and problems which face doctors and nurses providing specialized care for people with stoma in countries with low per capita income.
Organizational principles adopted in our Stoma-Centre are as follows: centralization of stoma care in a specialized onco-proctological hospital, free consultation services and reimbursement of ostomy care products, access to modern and effective ostomy care products irrespective of their high price.
The so-called Ostomy People School is an original form of care and rehabilitation provided for people with stoma in our Stoma-Centre.
