Targeted therapy agents are a newer and exciting advancement in drug development. Many of these drugs are used in cancer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other chronic illness. However, about 75% of the patients that receive targeted therapies will experience cutaneous toxicities. These toxicities can range from simple to severe rash, periungal changes, strange hair disturbances, severe skin dryness and spontaneous fistulae. The challenge for clinicians is that these cutaneous manifestations do not respond to "traditional" interventions. In the case of severe rash related to these drugs, for example, traditional interventions can exacerbate the presenting symptoms.

The objective of this poster presentation is to give a brief explanation of the mechanism of targeted therapies, provide photos to give a better understanding of presenting symptoms in addition to providing an overview of associated cutaneous toxicities. A review of evidence-based literature will be presented to describe what is known about how these toxicities respond to specific treatment.
