Biographical Sketch:
Teresa J. Kelechi, PhD, GCNS-BC, CWCN, Associate Professor of Nursing, Medical University of South Carolina, is currently an NIH-funded nurse researcher in the area of venous ulcer prevention. She received her BSN from Kent State University, MSN from Case Western Reserve University, and PhD from University of South Carolina. She has been an active clinician and educator who has implemented, directed, and provided care in a wound and foot clinic for 15 years, developed a DVD series on foot care as a review for the foot care certification examination, developed a curriculum for foot care education, served on the WOCNCB task force to develop a foot care certification examination, and continues to practice foot care. She is a frequent national lecturer on topics related to aging, foot care, chronic venous disorders, and is currently studying the effects of cryotherapy and lower leg conditioning exercises on leg ulcer prevention.
