Topic:

Wound care professionals have available to them multiple NPWT systems.  Due to the recent influx of new systems on the market, there is lack of knowledge regarding the selection process among the different NPWT systems that are now available.  These systems have yet to be categorized according to applications, features, and indications based on wound types and characteristics.

Purpose:

The purpose of this poster is to educate wound care professionals regarding the various NPWT systems available on today’s market and categorize NPWT systems according to applications, features and indications.

Objective:

The overall objective of this poster is to:

  1. Identify the various NPWT systems on the market.
  2. Categorize these systems based on features and indications for use.
  3. Discern which systems would be most beneficial for certain wound types and characteristics.
  4. Use this information to educate wound care professionals.

Outcomes:

This poster will categorize the various NPWT systems available on the market today and to educate wound care professionals about what types of wounds would benefit most from the various systems.   Once wound care professionals have this knowledge, we will be better able to choose from the many NPWT options to best serve our patients needs and promote efficient, affordable, and evidence-based wound healing.
