Methods: From October 2010, survey data were collected with interviews by using a structured questionnaires including the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS) and International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF) and a review of laboratory data. The subjects were 16 male patients who have been visiting the Diabetes Mellitus clinic at a University hospital. Data were analyzed using the SAS program.
Results: Mean score of LUTS, ED, and HbA1C was 7.8±6.4(range 0`35), 13.6±9.6(range 1`25), and 7.3±1.5(range 5.3`11.4). I n the severity of LUTS, mild group was 9(56.2%), moderate 6(37.5%), and severe 1(6.3%). The Severity of ED, no ED 4(40.0%), mild ED 2(20%), mild to moderate ED 3(30%), severe ED 1(10%), and 6 subjects were reported to have no sexual activities. LUTS had a negative association with ED (r=-.452 ).
Conclusion: The severer LUTS the male patients with diabetes had, the severer ED they had.
