Biographical Sketch:
A Children's Healthcare of Atlanta employee since 1999 and a certified Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurse since 2002, Marie Oren Sosebee is responsible for the initial development and implementation of the comprehensive inpatient pediatric WOC Nurse role and department.  With the eventual expansion of inpatient services and 2006 development of the WOC Nurse Coordinator role, she functioned as a clinical resource, liaison, and consultant to other health care professionals for the care of children ages birth to 21 years with skin, wound, ostomy, and/or continence disorders and diagnoses.  Marie is a past member of the national WOCN Society Pediatric Sub-Committee, serves as a WOCN Society content review expert, and has participated in numerous local and national speaking opportunities.  In her spare time, she volunteers as the Medical Education Session Coordinator for the national Youth Rally Committee, which provides a camp opportunity for kids with ostomies and GI/GU disorders.   Marie has most recently transitioned to a new role as a Clinical Staff Development Coordinator within the Children’s Clinical Staff Development Department.  She continues to collaborate with the WOC Nursing Department and Patient Safety/Quality as a key member of the system multidisciplinary skin integrity Wound Prevention Team and will be also partnering with the Patient/Family Education Department in future skin, wound, and ostomy educational development content.
