Biographical Sketch: Diane K. Newman, RNC, MSN, CRNP, FAAN is Co-Director of the Penn Center for Continence and Pelvic Health in the Division of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. She is an instructor in the School of Medicine. She was appointed to the planning committee of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), State-of-the-Science Conference on Fecal and Urinary Incontinence. National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), Office of Medical Applications of Research (OMAR) of the National Institutes of Health and was a speaker at this 2007 conference. She was a member of the panel of experts of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Scope and Severity of Nursing Care Deficiencies panel of experts in long-term care on “Guidance to Surveyors on Incontinence and Catheters.” She sits on the Bladder Health Council of the American Foundation for Urologic Disease (AFUD). She is a guest faculty at the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Education Program at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She is the Chairperson of the Committee on Promotion, Education, and Organization for Continence for the International Consultation on Incontinence. She is the co-author of the newly released 2nd edition of Managing andTreating Urinary Incontinence.
