Biographical Sketch: Dr. Engberg is a geriatric nurse practitioner and nurse researcher. She has been a co-principal investigator or principal investigators on three large NIH-funded studies examining the efficacy of interventions in reducing urinary incontinence in older adults and women. She is currently the principal investigator on an NIH-National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) funded study examining the efficacy of acupuncture in treating urinary incontinence in women. She has taught research to undergraduate, masters and doctoral students for the past 15 years and has first or co-authored a number of articles on research and evidence-based practice.
