The Veterans Administration (VA) has developed and recently rolled out a new mobile application (app) for pressure ulcer/injury prevention geared to the Veteran and Caregiver! This VA PUR app is a free direct download available for any Apple and Android mobile devices including cell phones and tablets. The VA PUR App is an easy-to-use tool that helps Veterans and caregivers prevent and understand pressure ulcers/injuries. The app provides educational tools to assist both the patient and the caregiver with nutrition management, sample meal plans, medication and position change reminders, physical/occupational therapy techniques, and a host of other therapeutic interventions. VA PUR includes videos to educate individuals about skin care, repositioning, and how to safely transfer from bed-to-wheelchair and wheelchair-to-bed.   Veterans can also create a list of questions to ask at their next appointment with their VA care team and find local and VA emergency contacts at the push of a button. This poster details the developmental stages of this mobile app, its capabilities, and the “fact sheets,” “FAQs,” and other free resources available to improve care delivery for Veterans and their caregivers with the use of the app.
