4444 New challanges of woc nurses for longterm care to senile patients in South Korea

In Korea, RN could not open own clinic or care center until July 1st 2008. On July 1st 2008,the Longtermcare for Senile Persons(over 65 years old) was started. This service is controlled under government (National Health Insurance-NIH and Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs-MIHWAF). Here is increased very fast number of persons over 65 years old. In 2005, they were 440millions, in 2010,700 millions, and in 2030, 1190millions, increase 59%, 70% vs 2005. Longtermcare service is established to support for them with Alzheimer, CVA, and another disease that cannot do ability of daily living activity. Visiting nurses do care the client to exchange tubes, nutritional care, personal hygiene, rehabilitating exercise, continence care and pressure ulcer care (wound care, too). So, it is new challenge and good chance that WOC nurses open own clinic in Korea. This survey is developed for understanding numbers of visiting nurses’ clinics, their role or mission, how manage, and their economic profit.
